Brian Hudson enters his 2nd season with the Scorpions program after being the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at St. John’s River CC.
Brian Hudson hails from Bishopville, Maryland, where he played four years at Stephen Decatur High School, earning Bayside Conference First-Team honors in 2006-08. He was named Conference Player of the Year during his senior season.
While earning his bachelor’s degree in physical education at Catawba College in North Carolina, Hudson was a part of the Indians’ 2010 squad that captured the South Atlantic Conference Tournament and made an appearance at the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships.
2014, Hudson was an integral part of Salisbury University’s coaching staff that led the Seagulls to 33-6-1 and 16-2 within the Capital Athletic Conference. In 2014, the Seagulls also captured the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship and made an appearance at the NCAA Division III World Series Championship for a second consecutive year. The Seagulls’ offense ranked nationally in batting average (t-2nd) that season.
Prior to his collegiate coaching debut, Hudson was an assistant coach at Buchholz High School in Gainesville and at Snow Hill High School in Maryland. He was also the assistant director of operations for the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox East from 2014-16. Additionally, he worked together with University of Florida strength and conditioning coaches Paul Chandler and Preston Greene, assisting with the Gator baseball and basketball summer conditioning programs in 2013. Brian currently resides in Gainesville with his wife, Alli.
